JOB TITLE: Service Plumber REPORT TO: Master Plumber with Gas WORK LOCATION: Jackson, Wilson, and Teton Village, Wyoming JOB POSTING CLOSING DATE: 3/3/15 EMPLOYMENT SCHEDULE: M-F, 8:00 - 4:30 PAYRATE: $18.00/hr Apprentice - $25.00/hr Journeyman, Depending on Experience HOURS: 40 hours with possible overtime available APPLICATION: http://....com/ JOB DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, perform apprentice or journey-level work in the installation, maintenance, inspection, modification, remodel and repair of mechanical plumbing equipment and fixtures for water, gas, oil, steam, sewage, and solar. SCOPE: Maintain, troubleshoot, and test plumbing systems. Assemble, install and repair pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures. Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings and pipes. Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations. Inspect related work performed by subcontractors. Estimate cost, time and materials for plumbing projects. Participate in the maintenance and operations of a plumbing shop. Clean, maintain and service tools, equipment, and work vehicle used in the performance of duties. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. The following duties are listed both as trade specific and shared responsibilities. 1. Maintains, repairs and installs plumbing and related fixtures and components. 2. Repairs piping of various size and type. 3. Checks safety equipment and replaces components such as washers, gaskets, and filters. 4. Inspects, repairs, or replaces pumps, valves, water softeners, water heaters, sump pumps, and boiler systems. 5. Winterizes and recommissions swamp coolers in Fall and Spring. 6. Educates homeowners/businesses about what the problem was, the solution to repair and possible future remedies. ABILITY TO: Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely; perform heavy physical labor; read and comprehend plans and blueprints as appropriate to the plumbing trade; install, maintain and repair a broad range of plumbing fixtures and components, pumps, valves, boiler systems, water softeners, water heaters, sump pumps/basins; analyze and respond safely and appropriately to emergency situations; train and direct the work of other plumbers (if Journeyman or Master); follow and give oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population. KNOWLEDGE OF: Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the plumbing trade; operation of building automation systems, applicable state and federal health and safety code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment; safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of mechanical equipment. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Environments can vary from tight crawl spaces, wall spaces, roof spaces, rooftops, using ladders, flashlights, helmets, goggles, masks, other safety equipment. May encounter extreme cold, wind, sun exposure and heat. Encountering sewage, asbestos and other hazardous materials may be common and will require tolerant exposure using required clothing and safety gear. As a service plumber, you will spend most of your time working alone and must possess a valid driver's license.
